眼が、とても弱くなっていたからだ。
長年、原稿読みとワープロ操作で酷使した眼がついに音を上げた。
白内障、というやつです。

なんだか、風景が薄ぼんやりと霞みだしてからもう4年。
さすがに、パソコンに向かうのも少し辛くなったところだった。
で、手術を、ついに決心。
この手術、とても簡単。
時間は10分程度、日帰りで可能。
でもね、けっこうコワイ。
だって、強制的に開けられた眼に、ぐっとメス（らしきもの）が迫ってくるのだよ。
眼球に麻酔が施されているとはいえ、目は見える。
迫るメスを、じっと見ていなければならない。
痛くはない。圧迫感が多少あるだけ。
でも、やっぱり、かなりコワかったよなあ。
しかし、丸一日で眼帯は外せる。
いやあ、感動しましたねえ。
明るいっっ！
まるで目にかかっていた紗が一枚はがれたように、世界がきれいだ。
気づかなかったけれど、ああ、今まで、こんな暗い風景を見ていたんだなあ。
来週は、もうひとつの眼球からも紗がはがされる。
世界は、もっときれいになる（はず）。
現実の世界も、こんなふうにきれいに生まれ変われるといいのにね。
